As a fantastic finish to their ‘Area 51’ topic, Hobbit class took turns to launch their own rockets. The ‘Hobbits’ had been challenged to research home-made rockets and build their own.

The rockets were mainly powered by compressed air, although some made use of expanding gas, produced in a chemical reaction, for thrust. The work put in and the results achieved were fantastic. Congratulations to Alex S for the longest measured flight. In addition, a special shout to Oliver B for a perfect flight trajectory and stunning landing.

Again, thank you for all the help given at home and at school – Hobbits learnt a lot and had great fun.
