Catch Up Premium

During 2020 and 2021 a one-off universal £650 million catch up premium was made available to ensure that schools had the support they needed to help all pupils make up for lost teaching time
 
Also, a £350 million National Tutoring Programme was mad avaialbe to provide additional, targeted support for those children and young people who need the most help, which includes:
 
 
Use of Catch-Up funding

Schools used this funding for specific activities to support their pupils to catch up for lost teaching over the previous months, during COVID lockdowns.  Attached to this page is the Rusper Primary report for the planned use of the funding.

 

Use of National Tutoring programme

During the academic year 21-22, Rusper primary used NTP funding to provide over 100 hours of directed tutoring to pupils with the biggest gaps in their learning. The tutoring focussed on phonics, reading and core number skills
