Online Safety is of crucial importance for all those responsible for protecting and maintaining the safety of children.
Today our children grow up exposed to a vast amount of online content via You Tube viewing, advertising, gaming and social media. Without security and vigilance, there are many potentially negative and harmful influences and experiences accessible within a click.
With more school work being done online, there is a very real need to manage all elements of Online Safety as diligently as possible.
Please take the time to read more about what we are doing at Rusper Primary to protect pupils working online; and also what you can do as parents at home too.
At Rusper Primary, we have recently adopted a new Online Safety Policy. The policy covers many elements including
- detailing acceptable use of school systems in school and at home
- managing online bullying
- the setting up and continued management of online safety via a representative Online Safety Group.
The Group currently includes
Mr Avey - Headteacher & Designated Safeguarding lead
Mr Snook - Computing Lead
Mrs Anscombe - Designated Safeguarding governor & Parent
The team also includes elected pupil representatives to maintain pupil voice
Please also see the Kapow 'Digital Literacy' overview we use for teaching Online Safety to pupils at RPS. Please contact the school office for more information as required.
The National Online Safety group offer a wealth of support to schools and parents in the form of training and guides.
