Welcome to Rusper Primary School
Headteacher’s Welcome
Welcome to Rusper Primary School
It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to Rusper Primary School – a place where children are truly at the heart of everything we do.
We are a proud, close-knit school community where every member of staff feels privileged to work. There is a genuine sense of belonging and shared purpose that runs through our school, and we are united by a deep commitment to nurturing, inspiring, and celebrating every child.
Our ethos – Play, Care, Grow – is woven into every aspect of school life. It reflects our belief that children learn best when they feel safe, valued, and engaged. Through play, they explore and discover; through care, they build relationships and empathy; and through growth, they develop the skills and character they need to thrive.
At Rusper, we don’t just teach – we learn from our pupils too. We value their unique personalities, their ideas, and the joy they bring to our school. The child’s voice is vitally important to us, and we take our responsibility to develop the whole child very seriously. Our curriculum and wider experiences are designed to support academic achievement alongside self-confidence, compassion, integrity, respect, resilience, and the ability to build safe, trusting relationships.
We want every child to know their worth and feel empowered to advocate for themselves, supported by emotionally available adults who listen and care. This is a place where children grow not only in knowledge, but in character – and where they are encouraged to be curious, courageous, and kind.
Rusper Primary School is proud to be a member of the Bohunt Education Trust. With their support, expertise, and enthusiasm, we continue to grow and evolve. Our close working relationships with our sister schools, especially Bohunt Horsham, allow us to offer our children additional opportunities and experiences that enrich their learning and broaden their horizons.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our school. We hope you’ll come and visit us soon – and see for yourself the warmth, energy, and pride that make Rusper Primary so special.
